A Message of Hope from Santa in his Sled!

By Santa Claus

A MESSAGE FROM SANTA on December 24, 2020

I’m flying right now, over sea over land
With all of my elves, who are lending a hand.
We’re dropping off presents, because you’ve been great,
And eating the cookies you left on a plate.

But we’re noticing something this year that is new,
Parties of many are now parties of few.
Instead of in person, you’ve gathered on zoom.
You’ve all social distanced, you’ve emptied the room.

It’s something we’ve done, even up at my home
And in every small town, from Miami to Gnome
It’s keeping us healthy, good job one and all,
Though for some it is lonely, so give them a call.

It can seem like we’re far, from the ones that we love
But the view looks quite different when seen from above.
If you think of your home as the experience you share,
Then we’re in this together, and that’s very rare.

Everyone on the planet, is doing their part
And spending this holiday spaced far apart.
But the distances shrink when you look from the sky,
And you all look united, just one big happy pie.

Your home is the planet, your stove is the sun.
Your bathtub’s the ocean, and that’s kind of fun.
The kitchen is huge, and the bedrooms are wide
And everyone living is warm there inside.

So long as we keep the earth lively and green,
And stop doing bad things that pollute and are mean.
We’ll share this big home forever and more,
(And the distance is fine, ’cause a lot of you snore.)

Just ’cause we’re lonely, doesn’t mean we’re alone,
We’re only as far as a letter or phone.
No matter the time, no matter the weather,
Remember as humans we’re in this together.

Now as I fly home, with my sled in the clouds,
Please do this small thing and I’ll just be so proud.
Remember to care for the planet at large,
Tell all of the grown ups and people in charge,

Rest your head on the pillow, it’s going to be great
As you dream of the world, that you’re going to create.
